Dr. Benjamin F. Gilbert III has been practicing in the Wilmington area for over 12 years. He earned his bachelor’s degree in implant biology from Howard University in Washington, D.C., where he was active in student government, the pre-professionals club, and intramural sports, winning three football championships. He attended Howard University College of Dentistry, where he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery and was involved in various leadership roles.

After graduation, Dr. Gilbert joined a dental practice in New York City, focusing on implant and cosmetic dentistry. This experience ignited his passion for these specialties. He completed a 300-hour maxi course in implantology with Dr. Norman Cranin at Brookdale University Hospital and New York University College of Dentistry, participates in continuing education, taking 20 to 100 hours every two years. Dr. Gilbert is a member of the National Dental Association.

His goal as a dentist is to provide beautiful, healthy, white, and bright smiles.

Dr. Gilbert was born and raised in Philadelphia and the surrounding suburbs. His hobbies include cycling, working out, traveling and spending time with family.

Dr. Mitali S. Patel has been practicing in the area since 2023 and earned her dental degree from Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine in 2009. She pursues continuing education every three to six months and completed advanced training after finishing dental school in India, where she received her BDS degree. Dr. Patel is certified to administer nitrous oxide.

Her goal as a dentist is to reduce patients’ dental anxiety to provide better care.

She has a daughter and enjoys strength training, traveling, hiking and working out.

Nicole has been the Operating Manager and Executive Administrator at the practice since May 2022. With a strong background in managing operations and administration, Nicole plays a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the practice. Her expertise and leadership contribute significantly to the overall success of the team.

Karen joined our office in April of 2019. She completed the Dental Assistant Program at Kaplan University in 2014 and appreciates being part of a family-oriented practice with a shared passion for oral health care. She contributes by providing patients with exceptional service.

Yanetzi “Yanni” has been a valued member of our practice since January 2019! She is bilingual, speaking English and Spanish, and is the voice that greets you in all our phone recordings. We are thrilled to have her as such an awesome part of our team here at Family Dental Center!

Tina became a part of our team in July of 2020. She completed one year at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY, and earned her associate’s degree in Hygiene from New York City College of Technology. Tina values the comradery, family atmosphere, teamwork and quality care at our practice. She enjoys adding light-hearted humor to her work and treating all patients with respect and attention to their individual needs.

Tina has been married for over 29 years, has two children, five siblings, and is a caregiver to her mother. Outside the office, she loves the beach, walking or bike riding and enjoys music and dancing despite not being able to sing or dance well. She has also helped co-write and direct church plays.

Khadijah has been with our dental office since April of 2019. With extensive experience in dental care, she plays a crucial role in leading the dental assisting team and ensuring high standards of patient care. Her leadership and dedication contribute significantly to the practice’s success.

Pinky joined the practice as a Dental Assistant in June of 2024. She is a registered dental assistant with comprehensive training in dental care.

Angell became a part of our practice in December of 2023. She completed her education at Delaware Technical Community College, where she found the program to be exceptional. Angell values becoming part of the family of experienced dental professionals and contributes by showing up every day eager to learn new things.

Outside of work, she cherishes her time with her two beautiful children and enjoys cooking and experimenting with new makeup looks in her free time.
